Indications

An antibiotic and antiprotozoal used in intestinal infections caused by anaerobic bacteria such as clostridia (Clostridium spp), giardia (Giardia spp), amoebae (Eimeria spp, coccidia), trichomonads (Trichomonas spp), flagellates (Trypanosoma spp) and other protozoa in dogs, cats, horses and ornamental birds.

Dose and administration

Route of administration: Given orally in the drinking water

Giardia in dogs: 0.15–0.3 ml of the product per kg twice daily for 5–7 days. Giardia in cats: 0.1–0.25 ml of the product per kg twice daily for 5–7 days. Giardia in horses: 0.05 ml of the product per kg, equivalent to 5 mg per kg, three times daily for 10 days. Protozoa: 1 ml of the product per kg body weight once, repeated after 2 and 4 weeks. Anaerobes: 0.5 ml of the product per kg body weight for 5–7 days. Amoebae: 0.25–1.25 ml of the product per kg body weight once every two weeks, or 0.5–1.25 ml of the product per kg body weight once every 72 hours for 5–7 days. Flagellates: 0.25–0.5 ml of the product per kg body weight, repeated every 3–4 days, or 1.5 ml of the product per kg body weight once every two weeks. Trichomonads: 0.2 ml of the product per kg body weight every 48 hours as needed. Intestinal infections: 1 ml/L water for two days, repeated after 48 hours. As directed by the veterinarian.
