Indications
Cattle, goats and sheep: used in cases of acute respiratory infections, with an appropriate antibiotic, to relieve the associated clinical signs. Also used in acute mastitis as supportive therapy. Also used in cases of diarrhoea, in addition to fluid therapy, to relieve clinical signs, especially in calves more than one week old. Horses: used to relieve the pain and inflammation associated with joint disorders, post-operative pain and in cases of arthritis. Cats and dogs: used to relieve the pain and inflammation associated with joint disorders and post-operative pain.
Dose and administration
Administration: given by subcutaneous or intravenous injection. Cattle: given at 2.5 ml per 100 kg body weight once, by subcutaneous or intravenous injection. (Equivalent to 0.5 mg/kg body weight.) The dose may be repeated after 24 hours if needed. Sheep (older than 14 days): by subcutaneous injection, a single dose at a rate of 1 ml/20 kg body weight. Horses: given at 3 ml per 100 kg body weight once by intravenous injection. (Equivalent to 0.6 mg/kg body weight.) Cats: given once by subcutaneous injection at 0.15 ml per 10 kg body weight, equivalent to 0.3 mg/kg body weight. If needed, the dose may be repeated after 24 hours. Dogs: given once by subcutaneous injection at 0.1 ml per 10 kg body weight, equivalent to 0.2 mg/kg body weight. If needed, the dose may be repeated after 24 hours. Note: when treating dogs and cats for surgical pain, it is preferable to give the treatment before the operation is performed.
